Challenge: An unfinished basement can be a great place to store the items that just won’t fit in your home. The problem is an unfinished basement with occasional flooding, poor insulation, and a surplus of dust and mildew can be the opposite. This couple has ample basement space, but it isn't being utilized in its current state.
Solution: To turn their spacious storage area into an entertainment space and full bathroom, we installed elegant linen ceilings and an EverLast perimeter wall system. We then replaced the treads with finished oak and primed risers and used gray ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring for a more cohesive appearance. Finally, we added a SaniDry system to limit moisture and a sewage ejector for the full bath. This completed their gorgeous new entertainment space.
This homeowner of this Auburn home had a simple vision with a unique twist, and TBF was happy to oblige. Their basement was one big room, like many, and the homeowner wanted to add some dynamic features to spice it up and get more out of the space. Since the upstairs was getting more crowded, the basement was to be transformed into a man-cave, complete with a workout area, a play area for the kids, and even a reading nook under the staircase. All in all, the homeowner wanted to change a bland basement into a dynamic space that could open up the rest of the house and make everybody happy.
TBF took this request in stride and provided an excellent solution for the homeowner. We took this previously neglected space and turned it into a fully furnished man-cave that the homeowner could work out and have some relaxation time in. Their kids could also play in the pleasant dry space, and take advantage of the new reading nook that could fit a twin mattress in. With the installation of the paintable system and Elite plank flooring paired with SaniDry, their new basement not only fits the desired purpose, but also looks fantastic.

This before and after is from a project in Mont Vernon, where we created a finished family room, play room, and gym space for a family.
This is a recent basement finishing project we completed in 2018 in Littleton, MA that features a stunning home bar, theater and seating area, recreational area, and bathroom. When wanting to expand your living space, why build up or out when you can make your basement look like this?
