Fresh New Craft Space for Retired Couple
Challenge
These homeowners are retired and are headed to Florida for a few months’ vacation. After putting it off for a while they decided it would be great to get back home to a new basement! It is rather small, but needs a lot of work. The plaster ceiling needed to be patched, and they wanted a small closet to be installed to close off the water main and sewer cleanout. Since they were getting older, the homeowners wanted a little more security in the form of a handrail for their basement stairs. Moisture was also a problem which needed to be addressed in the basement. On the exterior, they asked us to install a soffit on their perimeter walls. That kind of building is usually out of our scope of work but we were still more than capable and happy to do it!
Solution
Our couple was extremely satisfied with their new basement. They had been wanting to be able to have a space dedicated to crafts comfortably within their home, and now they do! With a SaniDry XP dehumidifier, hand railing, new ceiling, and TBF paintable walls, their basement is a much fresher space. The eyesore of the water main is now no longer visible as well. On the outside, the sofft fits in really well, and looks great!
