Raising Ceiling Height and Adding a New Home Office!
Challenge
A young couple lives in a house in Pepperell Massachussetts with their toddler. Although the husband works from home, it can be difficult to get much work done with a young child in the same room. The family has an unfinished basement, but they aren’t sure if it will be tall enough to finish and make into a usable space. Ideally, they could create an office and a second bathroom in the unused space to have a quiet and peaceful place to work.
Solution
The height of the basement was a challenge, but luckily, the basement was tall enough in some spaces to be finished in accordance with local regulations. The portion that was not tall enough to be converted into an office or bathroom was instead made into clean storage, so no portion would be wasted space. We used our vinyl EverLast panel wall system and painted their ceiling to preserve as much height as possible. We also installed Grey ElitePlank flooring, baseboard heating, and recessed can lighting. This left them with a dry, beautiful space to work during the day. Their favorite part of working with us was our quality and design.
