Say Goodbye to Asbestos and Mold, and Say Hello to Safety!
Challenge
These homeowners have not enjoyed their basement for a long time. It’s walls and flooring let moisture inside, and it smells of mold and mildew. There is asbestos in the walls, which desperately needs to be addressed. For starters, the whole entire space will need to be gutted and cleaned out to make sure it is safe for them and their kids. Building it back up from the basics, the bathroom will need to be remodeled, the laundry space reimagined, and the rest of the basement refinished. They also wanted more storage out of the whole space.
Solution
TBF was able to solve every one of these problems for these homeowners, and was very happy with the solution we were able to provide them. After removing all the old and unsafe flooring, walls, and ceiling, work began to replace the furnishings. A linen drop ceiling was installed to provide additional lighting. The TBF panel system was installed for the walls to keep all the moisture and mold out - a system that definitely doesn’t include asbestos! To top it all off(or bottom it all off), Elite Espresso plank was installed to round out the basement. In the closet, shelving units were put in to provide more storage. The homeowners now have more lighting, easier access to the laundry, a stylish bathroom, and overall a more enjoyable part of their home. Not to mention it is now as safe as can be for their kids!
