A Fresh Start Below: Transforming a Winchester Basement
Challenge
A couple in Winchester, Massachusetts, had long dreamed of finishing their basement but faced several challenges. The staircase required a complete overhaul, including cutting and replacing the original concrete. Additionally, gaps between the house and the foundation were exposed, creating insulation issues. While the bathroom plumbing was already roughed in, it needed to be relocated to improve the layout and maximize usable space.
Solution
We began by insulating the space and spray-foaming the gaps between the house and the foundation to seal it properly. The bathroom plumbing was moved to a more convenient location, making the bathroom smaller and expanding the main living area. To ensure durability and style, we installed our EverLast wall panel system around the perimeter, linen ceiling tiles, and ThermalDry Elite plank flooring in grey. Decorative post surrounds added a finishing touch, creating a cohesive space perfect for both relaxing and exercising.
