Basement Finishing in a Seaside Town
Challenge
A couple from Kennebunkport, Maine, is moving to a condo community in Wells, Maine. Although the couple likes their new space, they’re looking to improve it by finishing the basement. When they first saw the basement, they were concerned about the lack of light. The only Egress window in the space was located by the stairs. The basement was already about 90% finished, with walls and some flooring, but not in a way that is compatible with basement conditions.
Solution
To avoid any future mold growth in their environment, they had us replace the existing walls with our system. Wells is a beach town with occasional flooding and humid environments. For this reason, we installed a SaniDry dehumidification system. We also replaced all of the existing flooring with our ElitePlank flooring. After getting an early start on the project, the homeowners were thrilled to have their new space ahead of schedule.
