An Office Space to Work From Home
Challenge
A couple owns a home in Essex, Massachusetts, with their children and dog. The husband works from home, and they are looking for a way to expand their space so he can work from home more comfortably. This is a unique project because their basement has been partially finished but requires more work before the space can be used as an office or any other comfortable room.
Solution
We finished the ceiling by adding a new drop ceiling and reusing their existing can lights. The stair treads needed to be replaced, so we added white treads. They wanted the space to look simple, well-lit, and clean, so we painted the stairwell and ceiling white. Finally, we added new risers and handrails to the steps. Now, the space can be used as an office space or as a place for their children to spend time outside of school.
