A Rocky Space Turned Radiant
Challenge
Challenge: A single woman who lives in an older single-family home in Swampscott, Massachusetts. She has an unfinished basement that can be accessed through either a bulkhead or a set of stairs off the kitchen. Her stairwell down to the basement is rocky and uneven. The basement needs a newly finished ceiling, flooring, additional storage, and an extended wall to create a utility room.
Solution
Solution: After the homeowner had the bulkhead refinished, we installed a new drop ceiling in beige panels. We added six-panel primed doors EverLast insulated walls around the perimeter. Originally, we weren't certain we would be able to use this panel system around the staircase, as they were rocky and never. However, once we started working, we were able to all the panels around this area. Finally, we improved the lighting in the entire space by installing two new slider windows.
