Gutting an Outdated Basement to Create an Incredible Entertainment Space
Challenge
Challenge: A couple in Lynnfield, Massachusetts, have a beautiful home. The husband is a stay-at-home dad to two teenagers, and while they have a finished basement, they want to refinish it to be a beautiful entertainment space. To achieve this, they want their basement refinished, and we would also like to finish their garage. They need much work done, wanting the space to be completely gutted. This requires changing the mechanicals, converting from oil to propane, and tearing out everything down to the foundation.
Solution
Solution: We removed everything down to the garage ceiling, stairwell, and box staircase. After the demolition, we replaced the stairs with beautiful oak. We then had an electrician replace the old wiring and install a new panel. We removed the old oil tank, boiler, and heater, replacing them with new and improved utilities. Ultimately, we created two beautiful new rooms with a fully painted basement, a new cedar closet, and three areas of custom cabinetry.
