A Dwelling Unit Rip Out and Revamp
Challenge
A couple wants to renovate an Accessory Dwelling Unit in their daughter's home. The existing space needs to be completely ripped out to create the perfect space for their daughter. There are functional problems in the current area, including a broken water line which has kept her from having a refrigerator upstairs. The space will need a lot of work to make this space fully functional.
Solution
One of the only existing pieces of the Dwelling we kept original was the door separating the apartment and the unfinished space. Aside from that, everything was crafted specifically for the client. We installed an under-sink ejector pump in the kitchen, repaired the broken water line, and moved the dryer vent to a different wall to put the utilities in an ideal location. We built a full bath with a roll-in shower and shower bench and added walnut elite plank flooring in the main space.
