The Pipes can Pipe Down
Challenge
A couple in Somerville have lived in their home for seven years. Only last year, they had another contractor put in a new bathroom, but they didn’t like the finished product. They didn’t work well with the contractor, and wanted to find somebody they could trust. Their house is an over one hundred year old two-family dwelling. They live on the first floor, and are currently using their basement for storage. As a way to expand their living area, they want to redo their bathroom and finish the space.
Solution
The couple chose TBF because of the high quality materials and experience we have in basements. Together, we worked with them to finish the basement while working around the problems that come with an older house. There were many pipes in the ceiling, not all of which could be covered, and an uneven floor which needed to be leveled. By the time the project was complete, we were able to provide them with a bath and shower, three new windows and two interior doors.
