Poorly Finished Basement Gets Makeover!
Challenge
This couple recently purchased their new house that had an already finished basement, but after closer inspection things weren’t exactly what they seemed to be. A lot of the basement was done poorly, and there were also some drainage issues with water getting in around their basement. So the decision to refinish the basement and TBF was brought in to remedy the problem. They just wanted to have this basement as another family room they could use to watch movies, so it wasn’t going to be a very complicated project, albeit necessary. They also liked the idea of having a half bath for convenience's sake, which their current basement lacked.
Solution
For the drainage problem in their bulkhead where rainwater was glowing right in, we recommended working with a landscaper to install drainage outside to redirect the water flow away from their house entirely. On the inside, we demolished the existing space to make way for a properly installed, more pleasant-looking interior. Using a linen drop ceiling, TBF paintable wall panels, and a Dark Walnut Elite plank floor, this new basement made the old ones pale in comparison. Plus with the addition of a bathroom off to the side, this was now the perfect spot for movie night for the couple!
