Choose a New Basement Over a New Addition!
Challenge
TBF was called to this home because the homeowners were feeling cramped in their home and wanted more space. This is a very common problem with people who have lived in one home for a while, and not only can a newly finished basement free up space in your house but can also provide a fresh change of scenery without adding a whole new addition. Waterproofing was stressed throughout the process, because they wanted to have a family room and a laundry space without having to worry about safety.
Solution
To tackle the waterproofing issue, we installed a perimeter drain, which diverts any water out and away from the basement into the ground. This would ensure dampness doesn’t get into the space and the family can have peace of mind. For materials, TBF used a perimeter drain system, TBF paintable wall panels, Light Pecan Elite plank flooring, and a linen drop ceiling. As an extra precaution, we also installed a SaniDry XP unit to further limit moisture buildup.
