Mold and Mildew Problem Solved!
Challenge
These homeowners had a very common problem, but some people with this problem don’t realize that it needs to be remedied as soon as possible. Mold and mildew are very bad for humans, and breathing them in can lead to serious breathing problems. This family had plans to remodel the space into a family room and home office but also had to deal with the extensive mold problem and smell. Their house was getting cramped due to a growing family, and making the most of the space they had was crucial.
Solution
The first and most important thing TBF had to tackle was the mold and mildew problem. The basement needed to be gutted completely, and as much of the old building material removed as possible. This would ensure that the smell would not return and all the spores were gone. Once that was done, we could rebuild the walls, ceiling, and floor. Using paintable wall panels and Elite plank flooring we created a new home office for the parents and a family room for the rest of the family to relax in and enjoy. As an extra precaution, a SaniDry XP was put in to make sure the new space stayed clean and dry.
