More Family Moving in Means Adding Full Basement Apartment for Daughter!
Challenge
This homeowner wanted to completely redo their basement, and completely outfit it to act as a complete apartment and living space. With their mother moving in, they decided to move their daughter to the basement to make room. The new basement was to include an office, bedroom, full bathroom, playroom, and storage space. The homeowner also wanted to wall off and enclose the furnace. Yes, it is a very big basement! With the daughter moving downstairs, they wanted her to be very comfortable especially with a more crowded house.
Solution
The outcome was remarkable. What was once a run of the mill basement was turned into a fully furnished and functioning apartment space in which the daughter could live very comfortably. Built with paintable walls, linen ceiling, Elite Plank floor, egress windows, and Kohler bath appliances, the new basement is now a fantastic living space that anybody in the house would be lucky to be moving into.
