A Basement Pantry
I think pantries are magical. I love always having the necessities for a meal. There is something truly comforting about knowing that, even if I’m too tired to go to the grocery store, I can still make dinner.
Pantries also allow consumers to buy in bulk. Buying wholesale is significantly less expensive than buying items one at a time. And a pantry will allow you to take advantage of a sale. My favorite granola is ridiculously expensive. When my granola goes on sale, I stock up and store it in my pantry.
If you don’t have the space in your home for a pantry, I highly recommend creating it. A pantry will save you money and help take one thing off your busy mind (dinner).
The basement is the perfect place for a pantry. A basement pantry will not detract from your upstairs living space and can be as utilitarian as you like. In fact, a utilitarian pantry is ultra-stylish right now.
Utilitarian does not mean unfinished. Pantries should be welcoming spaces. If your pantry lies within the depths of your dank basement, are you going to feel good about trekking down there for some pasta? Are you going to send your kiddo downstairs to grab a can of soup? Nope. You’ll just order pizza.
I love pizza, I could eat pizza every day, but it’s not very healthy. A pantry gives you convivence of delivery with the health of home cooked.
A finished basement pantry will feel inviting and cozy. You’ll find yourself perusing your shelves with excitement, you’ll think, hmmm what can I make today? Pizza! :)
