Small Spaces With Big Impacts
Challenge
A nice family in New Boston, New Hampshire, is having their daughter and grandchildren move into their home and would like to give them a space to themselves. They have an unfinished basement, which they can transform into a basement apartment. They were able to find us online by searching for basement finishing, and seeing positive reviews about our services. They originally reached out to us to get an estimate for their 600-square-foot space and see what we could do with the layout. They were hoping for two bedrooms, a laundry room, and a bathroom, if possible.
Solution
We began this process by evaluating what we could create in a limited space. The ceilings were eight feet high, which is fantastic for finishing a basement. We were able to add a few walls to create two bedrooms and an area to do laundry. We added our vinyl wall panels in white around the perimeter, with colonial style trim to make the space more cohesive and attractive. We installed all new LED lighting into our 2X2 foot ceiling linen ceiling tiles and decorative surrounds for the two existing posts. Finally, we added our ThermalDry Elite Plank flooring in light pecan. Ultimately, this space was transformed into a beautiful, cozy, multigenerational home to be enjoyed for years.
