Mixing Style and Functionality in Mont Vernon
Challenge
Challenge: A young couple, along with their two children, recently purchased their first home in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. Despite having a partially finished basement, they would like to expand their overall living space and create a safe play area for their small children. They need one wall removed completely, but the primary goal of finishing the space is to transform the basement into a cozier, more secure, and inviting environment.
Solution
Our approach began with incorporating linen ceiling panels, adding our EverLast paintable wall system, and carpeting their stairs. To address the family's temperature concerns, we installed baseboard heat and utilized ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring in Grey. To maintain a consistently dry atmosphere, we also added a SaniDry air system. Next, we added recessed LED lights, which contribute to a contemporary aesthetic, and we opted to retain some of the original wooden walls for a stylistic touch. The result is a spacious, finished area made up of utility space, a family room, a dedicated kids' crafting area, and a flexible space for a potential gym or storage. The final design balances practicality and a modern, clean appearance.
