Adding Living Space in A Basement in Groton
Challenge
Challenge: A young couple owns an older house in Groton, MA. Since purchasing the house, they’ve updated everything except their basement. They have an outdated finished basement with two levels, and they want it modernized. They want a dividing wall to be placed in the basement, and the access door will remain the same so they can easily reach their newly finished space.
Solution
Solution: We created an exercise room, family room, bathroom, and laundry room in their space. Before we did this, we first tore out the plaster ceilings and old beams that were not weight-bearing. We created a divider and separated the exercise room with double pocket glass doors. Finally, we installed our paintable wall system and painted the entire space. This resulting in a modern and beautiful finished space.
