Music Studio and Home Office Addition
Challenge
These homeowners in Townsend, Ma wanted to take advantage of their existing basement space and turn it into an area of their home that they will actually use. Their vision for the new basement was going to turn the space into two rooms: a home office for the wife and a room designated for the husband’s music. This would eliminate spending time and gas money going to the office, while allowing the husband to hone his musical skills at home for free.
Solution
TBF was able to finish a great looking space for this couple, and fully accomplished their goals for the new basement. For the wife, we created a brand new home office that turned her commute into a walk from the kitchen to the basement. She hated her old way of getting to work, and this new office saves her a lot of stress and time. As for the husband, he can now have his own space to practice his instruments without bothering anybody. Rooms designated to music should be situated in the basement because it lets the least amount of sound seep into the rest of the house compared to other floors, so this decision made a lot of sense. To finish the basement, TBF installed our Paintable wall panels, a white linen drop ceiling, and a mix of Gray and Espresso Elite plank flooring.
